Living and drinking Empordà
Wake up, look out the window and see a sea of vineyards and olive groves. Yawn, stretch your arms and say good morning to the plain of Empordà. Reach the beach and with the salt still on your skin, drink a glass of wine while your gaze follows the Bay of Roses to the castle of Montgrí. Or get cozy in front of the fireplace while picking up where you have left off in the book from last night. Silence, wild herbs and starry skies. And, from time to time, the strong roar of the Tramuntana comes at you sideways, makes you a touch wild but empowered.
Mas Espelt is a farmhouse on the outskirts of Vilajuïga, a village in the Albera mountains near where the Regional train stops. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves and just minutes from some of the finest beaches in the area (Roses, Llançà, Port de la Selva, Cadaqués) and some outstanding natural and cultural highlights (the Dalí Museum in Figueres, the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, Megalithic Era monuments, the Greek and Roman ruins of Empúries, the Aiguamolls Park, and the Natural Park of Cap de Creus...).
